Andreas Vassiliou

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors – Non-Executive Director

Mr. Andreas Vassiliou was until March of 2012 Executive Vice President of Metlife Group Inc. and President & CEO of Central and Eastern Europe which was comprised of 13 countries.

He started his career at Alico Greece in 1979 as Managing Director, appointed Vice Chairman of Alico Europe 1989-90, Regional President & CEO of Central and Eastern Europe in 1991.

In 1995 joined the Board of Alico and was AIG Chief Regional Executive Officer for Central and Eastern Europe and Russia, in charge of the regional management of the Independent Commonwealth States in 1996, Senior Vice President of Alico in 2001 and Executive Vice President in 2003. He was also in charge of Spain and Portugal from 1994 until 2001 and from 2001 until 2005 he was President of Alico in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

He served as Vice President of National Bank of Greece Insurance Co. and was member of various Committees on Strategy and Developement in Insurance and Reinsurance Groups.

He has studied Law and Economics at the University of Athens and holds a Master of Laws from the University of London and is a fellow of the Life Management Institute.
