Yiangos Demetriou

Independent Director

Appointed as Independent Director of AstroBank Public Company Limited in April 2024. Mr. Demetriou is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a B.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. Mr. Demetriou was employed at the Central Bank of Cyprus (‘CBC’) from 1983 through to 2019. Mr. Demetriou retired in 2019 as Head of Banking Supervision of the CBC. He was also a member of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism of the European Central Bank from its establishment in 2013 through to 2019.
