AstroBank presented the conference Cyprus Investors Show – Wealth Management
Dr Shadi Karam: Cyprus remains an attractive destination in the real estate market
Charis Kynigou: Ways to manage the new investment reality
Some important conclusions on the current economic and investment environment were reached during the successful conference Cyprus Investors Show – Wealth Management, which took place on 17 September 2020. AstroBank was the event’s grand sponsor.
Internationally renowned speakers from the United Kingdom, Belgium and Cyprus focused on the range of investment options as well as the anticipated performance, with emphasis on the threats and risks that come with this new era that the global economy is entering as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The keynote speaker and coordinator of the Conference, head of AstroBank’s Private Banking Division Mrs Charis Kynigou, focused on ways of managing the new reality, which has resulted both from an extended period of low interest rates, and of course the Covid-19 pandemic. She stood particularly on the need for investors to be aware of the risk they are taking when it comes to the anticipated performance of their investment, while sending the message that investment requires, among other things, proper dispersion, protection and investment products that have a low correlation. As Mrs Kynigou pointed out, the best time to invest is when you have money. Any fluctuations smooth out with time.
In his own speech, AstroBank’s Chairman of the Board of Directors and Independent Director Dr Shadi Karam said that Cyprus remains an attractive destination in the real estate market, indeed stressing that it attracts experienced investors. To this end, Dr Karam said it was interesting how Cyprus’ investment environment had evolved, and sent the message that investors come to Cyprus to stay.
The Cyprus Investors Show – Wealth Management international conference was held online, due to the protective measures against the Covid-19 pandemic. It was organised by IMH and watched by around 400 people, primarily property and asset managers, investment consultants, partners and senior executives of accounting and law firms, CEOs and senior business executives, and others.
As part of its strategy, AstroBank actively participates in actions for education and exchange of information on international matters of financial interest, both for the training of its executives and staff, as well as to keep Cyprus’ investing public and the general public informed.
