Donated respirators and SWAB tests for sample testing, worth €50,000

Constantinos Loizides: By society’s side, covering emergency needs after consulting the Ministry of Health

 

In a bid to support the Ministry of Health’s efforts to cover the needs to face the Covid-19 pandemic, AstroBank has responded by delivering 5,000 SWAB Test Kits worth €20,000 to Nicosia Hospital today, to be distributed to hospitals island-wide. The most important measure right now is to limit the spread of the virus and AstroBank participates in this effort as the SWAB Tests are used by medical staff to conduct sample tests for potential cases.

Furthermore, AstroBank has ordered four brand new respirators worth €25,000. The Bank will deliver the respirators (OSIRIS2), after consulting with the Ministry of Health, to the hospitals that need them the most.

At the same time, the Bank has distributed 1,000 face masks to all of its network’s service points, providing added protection to staff and customers.

In statements, the Bank’s Managing Director Mr Constantinos Loizides, said: “The main objective of the Bank right now is to support, in any way that it can, those who are on the frontlines fighting a daily battle. From the very beginning of the pandemic, we have shown how sensitive we are to ensuring the safety and support of our staff, customers and their families, but also Cypriot society as a whole, taking a series of actions and implementing strict measures. We have repeatedly shown that our contribution is far bigger than our size allows.”
